It's official...

I will not be putting a show up this year in the Fringe. The wait got to be too long, and we didn't get in. That's fine. That means that I don't have to try to run a production from overseas, and I don't have to committ 5 timeslots to my own show... That's 5 more randomly determined shows that I can see during Fringe 2005!!!

Speaking of that, I have 3 Fringe Buddies lined up already. What's a Fringe Buddy you ask? Well, that would be a person who goes around with me for one whole day and attends the same random crap that I do. It takes a brave sould to be one of my Fringe Buddies, but it can be very rewarding, too. If you're interested, and you're not criminally insane, shoot me an e-mail and we'll talk about it.

The show I'm currently directing, Machiavelli's "The Mandrake" opens up on June 3rd at the 4th Street Theatre in St. Paul. Should be a blast, I'd think. It's a good show with a stellar cast that has been a joy to work with. I can't even tell you how much I'm enjoying the whole thing. If you come, you'll enjoy it, too, I'm sure. Something y'all might want to be aware of, too, as it affects the world of theatre and specifically the theatres that are the right size to be doing Fringe Shows. There is a new theatre alliance starting in the Twin Cities to get everyone working together and more productively. We've held two major meetings about the thing, and it's moving forward at a rapid pace. It's exciting news that I'll keep you posted on from time to time.

Last Fringe related thing: I am going to be attending the June 6th edition of Thirst Theatre again at Joe's Garage. It's going to be a great night of entertainment. Join me there. It's only $10, and it's unlike any other theatre being done in town.

TIME FOR SOMTHING A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT:
  • My new laptop doesn't burn my legs like my old one did. This makes me happy.
  • Kermit the Frog is green, which I hear it isn't easy being. Grover is blue. I can't imagine that is much easier, but who knows?
  • Thank goodness for the Bell Curve... I managed to get good grades again this term at UNO, despite not really deserving them. I feel that I should be personally thanking all the folks who flubbed up worse than I did for bringing down the class averages.
  • From www.hookedonfacts.com... "Nutmeg is extremely poisonous if injected intravenously." How much hassle would one have to go through to inject nutmeg? It's a pain in the butt just to grate enough to make the top of the Egg Nog look nice at Christmas time, who'd waste the time to get enough prepared to shoot up?
